Countless hours have been spent hiking, searching, collecting and transporting driftwood a few select pieces at a time to my workshop in St. Margaret's Bay. Colored pieces are hard to come by but treasured for their ability to add to a frames body or trim depending on the item to be framed!

On display in Halifax's "Seaport Farmers Market" where you can see both framed and unframed prints, digital files and some other furniture pieces sporadically throughout the year.

A print entitled "Solitary Surf, Dominion" presumably of a rough day @ Dominion Beach near Sydney, NS. Note some of the insect add 'character' in the wood with the pitting and burrowing within the wood often really adds an interesting element and flair similar to say, 'Birds Eye Maple".

One of my images of the randomly strewn boulders that makes Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia such a remarkably interesting landscape. Not the silhouettes of the throngs of tourists that visit this location every year.

Another image taken from the Halifax waterfront featuring "Georges Island National Historic Site" with a car carrier that was creating some difficulties for sailors during a light wind regatta start exiting the harbour. Destination Fox Harbour (the vessel) was too tall to fit in this 13+ frame image and as I understand it, it's mast too tall to go under the MacDonald Bridge leading into the famous protected haven for mariners in the Bedford Basin.

This 420 fleet of dinghy's captured from the water and framed in this rustic, found and slightly polished all driftwood piece sold at North Sails Atlantic, Halifax, NS.

A photo brought to me as a surprise for the vessels owner couldn't bring themselves to frame this special and sentimental photograph with just another frame. That is, they, like myself wanted to showcase the image in a unique way that didn't involve a trip to Walmart or framing with faux wood, plastics or something that everyone else had!

A L'Esperance Original. This photo is an extremely high resolution image (see in my Peggy's Cove Favorites Gallery) that incorporates more than 50 images taken in rows and columns to create one super sharp, very detailed image. The night was perfect and there is a chance some speed limits were broken driving to Peggy's Cove to capture this remarkable sunset without a person around!

Two prints of the same dimensions whose main frame bodies are made from the same found board, yet feature different trims to complement each print. In this case, both being nautical prints, a Port and Starboard theme was created so that they would really stand out on a sailors wall!

A truly beautiful print with a piece of wood painstakingly and carefully molded to form this frame which really showcases how beautiful driftwood can be and how the frames themselves are indeed works of art!

The bugs, insect and coastal critters got to this piece of wood to create the tunnels and tracks seen in this close up. And yet, years of weathering along the coast with an added 1 year minimum drying process in my workshop ensures that those bugs work is preserved, but the bugs themselves are NOWHERE to be found! These are not living works of art;)

Not an image I would typically frame, however, this client was determined to frame her son riding in a unique and beautiful frame. Not something you would find in any shop, one of a kind through and through and made to last a lifetime.
